Connect Groups

People During Workshop

What are Connect Groups?

Life is all about relationships.  We believe in growing in our relationship with God and our relationships with others.  Connect groups are small groups of people who are connecting relationally and growing spiritually.  While growth takes place, it is also important to make sure the body of Christ is cared for.

Acts 2:42-47 says, “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.  Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.  Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.”

Hebrews 13:16 says, “But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.”

Ecclesiastes 4:10 says, “If one personal falls, the other can reach out and help. But people who are alone when they fall are in real trouble.”

Why Connect Groups?

Connect Groups exist as a way for people to engage in biblical community that helps them become more like Jesus in every area of their lives.  The establishment of the church in Acts 2:42-47 left us a model to duplicate.

  • Connecting builds unity in the church.  1 Corinthians 1:10 says, “Let there be real harmony so there won’t be divisions in the church…… be of one mind, united in thought and purpose.”

  • Connecting allows our relationships to grow. Hebrews 10:24 says, “Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.” And 2 Corinthians 1:1 says, “… as you also join in helping us by your prayers, so that many will give thanks on our behalf for the blessing granted us through the prayer of many.”

  • Connecting provides compassion and care to the people. Romans 12:9 says, “Don’t just pretend that you love others. Really love them.” And 1 Corinthians 12:26 says, “If one part of the body suffers, all the other parts suffer with it….”
